This New York wedding is an image from the first dance of a wedding I photographed back in 2004. Yes, they just celebrated their 9th anniversary.
I LOVE this first dance photograph. It is such an intimate moment. The groom is singing the first dance song to her and she is loving it. They are happy, I mean really happy. I was reminded of this image because this couple just celebrated their 9th anniversary and they put this photo up every year on their facebook page. One year, he had this photo put on a piece of wood and made into a puzzle for their anniversary. The “wood” anniversary.
This photo tells the story of their entire day. It actually tells a story of their relationship too. What I love most is that they pull out this image every year and I bet this will be the photo that is carried through every generation and put on the photo table at their son’s wedding and their grandchildren’s weddings and so on.
