This beautiful and heartfelt wedding moment comes from Lauren and Howie’s wedding at the Lighthouse. This was actually just after their first look at the Soho Grand Hotel.
I had just put Lauren over near the window to take some portraits because the light was gorgeous. After taking a few, I asked Howie to go over and stand with her. I took a beautiful overall portrait of the two of them and then Lauren took Howie’s hand and kissed it. Whenever I do portraits with the couple, before we start, I encourage them to talk with each other and connect with each other. Then I set them free in a gorgeous setting. Since this was just after their first look emotions were still running high. Lauren said she could not believe the day was finally here.
This kind of emotion can not be faked. You have to build trust with the couple, allow them to be who they are with each other and watch. Watch for those special and intimate moments that make capturing weddings so important.
What do you think this will remind them of in 5 years? 10 years? 50 years? What do you think their children and grandchildren will think about their relationship?
