The Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, New York is a photographer’s dream. At least mine. I love all the natural light, industrial doors and walls and the crazy furniture props they have everywhere. I joked with Pamela that the wedding would have to be another time because we needed more time for photos. Since Pamela is an actress and part-time model (cue Flight of the Conchords song “Most beautiful girl in the room“) and John is a filmmaker ,they understood my delight with the space. However, I wanted to see Pamela and John get married because they are perfect for each other and all their friends were so fantastic. This is the smartest thing a couple can do. With so many people with smart phones and cameras, they can ruin a ton of your ceremony photos. Every wedding I have people that sneak out into the aisle as the bride comes down and you know what, the bride wants her and dad not your butt cheek in my shot. Then you have the people that just step in front of you. A little secret, us photographers, take those photos so the when the client asks why you only have 1 or 2 good photos of them walking down the aisle we show them all the arms and butts that got in our way because those other people were taking photos with their iphone.

The best man had the best speech. He showed photos of John pre and post Pamela and talked about the positive influence Pamela is on John. John freely admits he is better off with Pamela. Based on the photos, I think so too.
