Wedding Tips: Some favorite wedding dress inspiration

When looking for wedding dress inspiration, awards shows are a great place to look. So of course, everyone has been talking about the Golden Globes’ fashion. Who was hot and who was not. What I love is that you see the trends that carry over into bridal dresses. Every year I hope that brides will get away from the traditional strapless a-line gown that is always safe. A really good idea for dress searching- find your celebrity doppleganger and see what styles look great on them.

This dress by Emilio Pucci was my favorite. It’s simple but the gold deco down the sides and sleeves is gorgeous. The contrast in the sides makes you look longer and leaner and the gold design makes it fancy. Sleeves are really in this year, so I hope more brides take advantage of it. Especially now, while it is chilly.

Capes are making a scene this year. Amy Adams had a gorgeous two tone red one and this dress by Ralph Lauren is simple but oh so elegant. Form fitting but the cape hides any flaws you may feel you have. This style would be perfect for a bride who does not want to wear a long veil.

Um, this was my second favorite dress! Cate Blanchett looks stunning in this Armani black lace dress with a plunging back. Low gorgeous backs are in this year, so if you have been working out and doing the wedding diet then this will be perfect for showing off those new found lats. This dress is so easy to imagine in white, ivory or champagne.

I love this Gucci dress. It has the plunging back, a high neck which shows off great arms and has enough bling that you can go really simple on the jewelry.

The Golden Globes are my favorite awards show because of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as the hosts. I mean who doesn’t want to have to drink any time someone says, “I didn’t prepare anything!” and if Bryan Cranston speaks, everybody has to do a little bit of meth. Just a touch, because that’s all you need, just a touch.”
