Tomorrow is the summer solstice but it will also be Ashley and David’s wedding day. I am really excited because it will be at the New Museum in New York City and we have planned for some really fun family photos and couple portraits around the Lower East Side. I love a bride that says, “You know that graffiti wall on Houston Street? Yeah, that is where we will do the family portraits” I’m all smiles.
So to celebrate their wedding, here’s some fun photos of their engagement session in Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY. Oyster Bay is where Ashley grew up sailing in the summer time and where David proposed. In fact, they are dancing below, in the very spot David proposed. He wanted to do it on the path leading into the woods, where they used to take walks, but it had been closed that day.
You have to love cherry blossoms in full bloom.
Our shoot was almost canceled because of the rain but we decided to go for it and the drizzle only came out for a little while towards the end. I always love umbrella shots.
Ashley and David said we could not leave Oyster Bay without getting an icee from Bonanza’s. Hmmm, after living in Philly for 10 years, I may have to say Rita’s Water Ice is still my fave. shhhhh…
