Last week, I was in Vegas. I have never been to Vegas and only knew what people told me and what I have seen on TV. The experience was very love/hate. One of my best friends lives in Vegas. She dances in Cirque du Soleil’s show, LOVE. The Beatles one. I am so glad I got to see her- it had been about 8 years. The show was amazing! I could not believe that people actually thought up all the designs, sets, lighting etc. It was definitely a show not to be missed. The dancers were great and of course, the music!! So that was something I loved about Vegas.
I also went out and shot 6 dancers at Red Rock. We had so much fun being really creative with props. It was awesome to be able to capture dancers. They are so full of life, energy and beauty. Pics coming soon! Dave Williams of Dave Williams Films came and videotaped the whole escapade. I’ll post that when he sends it to me. The footage is amazing. Another love!
I also ran around while Dave Williams and Sarah DiCicco filmed a music video. That was a blast!
My good friends and fellow photographers, Jackie Bayne and Pat Simone were married out there by Elvis. I think it was one of the most fun weddings I have ever been to and shot. There were 2 videographers, and 3 of us photographers shooting this 15 minute ceremony. It was organized chaos. Then we had one of the most fabulous meals I have ever had at Mon Ami in the Paris Hotel. The steak was to die for!
It was also great seeing my photographer friends and going to the wedding and portrait photographers convention. I learned a lot and saw some really cool new albums and products. I am excited to start using them.
As far as hating vegas, well it was really really dry, expensive and I was sick for most of it. However, the good definitely outweighed the bad. I will be posting many updates over the next week, so stay tuned.
Here are some pics, my friend Jordan Oplinger took of me.
