I have to say–some of the best relationships blossom from the funniest beginnings. While in college, Lou and Sam first met at the Stage Left Restaurant in New Brunswick, NJ. At the time, Lou was already working the bar, and Sam was interviewing with Bryan, the maître d’, for a job. When she left, the first thing Lou said to Bryan was, “I can’t believe you just hired that lunatic!” But as you might of guessed, Lou and Miss “lunatic” still eventually fell for each other– sharing the Somerset Diner’s “happy waitress special” after work shifts, while discovering their shared love of rock music, skiing, and riding motorcycles. Since then, Lou has even confessed to liking when Sam honks and crazily screams at people on the road. See, some first impressions really start to grow on you!
Louis and Sam’s late December wedding was great fun! Even with the trolley snafoo, where it decided to come back 30 minutes after the ceremony was scheduled to be over.
Indeed, “how sweet it is to be in love” [and to be getting married], as went the old Johnny Hartman jazz song that played during Lou and Sam’s first dance. Take a look at some of the images from the pair’s wedding day:

Lou’s grandmother was married in this church. Unfortunately, she could not make the wedding but I know she is loving that she can see it in pictures.
The wedding timeline was pretty tight and we had very little wiggle room. Since the ceremony started 30 minutes late, we had to move the sparkler exit to the end of the night and the photo with Lou’s grandmother was not done because she could not come which allowed us an extra 25 minutes in the timeline. So, at the end of the ceremony, we were right on time for Lou and Sam’s Broad Street portraits. Rushing out of the church, there was no trolley! Where did it go? Not wanting to wait around and to far to grab a cab, I noticed one of the guests getting into his jeep. I quickly ran over, asked if he had room for me and Sam and Lou. “Of course!” So, the three of us stuffed ourselves into the car for the short ride up Broad Street. Did these fab pics and jumped back in for the ride to the hotel. While we were getting back into the car, the trolley drove by with the wedding party! Sheesh, if we had waited, we would never have gotten these photographs which were the one portrait shot they absolutely had to have.
Lou’s stepfather’s family worked on the William Penn statue atop City Hall. Now that is a Broad Street photo, I am happy to get.
Lou, his grandparents, and his cousins were all Oreo cookie fanatics growing up. So for a personal touch, Lou decided on an Oreo cookie “cake” for his groom’s cake.
