Philadelphia Get to Know You session: Katy and Jeff

Another Philadelphia engagement session!. Katy and Jeff are a breath of fresh air. I mean they just get it. They get what it means to be in love; to really care for each other. When talking with them about who they are and what is important about their wedding, they said “The most important thing to us about our wedding day is actually making the commitment to spend our lives together.” That is what a wedding is about, that is what marriage is about. The commitment to spend your lives together. Even when things are tough and you can barely stand talking to each other or the dirty dishes are piling up in the sink or you have to use paper towels for toilet paper because there is no more toilet paper. Thank you guys for reminding me and all of us what marriage is about.

Katy and Jeff are also fun, sweet and go together so well. They met on e-harmony and even if you don’t believe in all the compatibility quizzes and online dating this is one couple that proves it works. However, Katy did say they had a hard time finding the time for a date, it kept getting cancelled for one reason or another. After 5 months of talking and a few failed attempts at in person meetings they finally met up at the Nodding Head Brewery for Quizzo and beers. They have been together ever since.

Katy says, ” Jeff is my best friend, I have never felt so happy and loved. He also has the largest itunes music collection I have ever seen.” Jeff used to play in a cover band, I think he was just studying up

I am really excited about their wedding this summer at the Please Touch Museum. They said they want to play in all of the exhibits!

There was a carousel at city hall! Katy loves carousels.

I love Katy’s relaxed, easy style

Save the date!

Philadelphia Get to Know You Session: Sherri and Brad

So much to post so little time. This lovely engagement session is from late fall in Philadelphia. Who knew a trip to the flea market would develop into singing cheesy 90′s songs, watching reality TV on the couch, eating ice cream and taking walks around the city? Sherri’s mom and Brad’s aunt are best friends and Brad just happened to be visiting his aunt over the Thanksgiving holiday. Since the two friends love going to the flea market together, Sherri and Brad just happened to tag along that day and they have been together ever since. Sherri did say they met once when they were 10.

They both live in DC now but wanted to do their Get to Know You session in Philly where they built their relationship. We wandered around Rittenhouse Square area, venturing into Yogurino their fave spot for ice cream, actually frozen yogurt and ending at their first date spot, Monk’s. Sherri is super cute, outgoing and spunky while Brad is a little more laid back and quiet.

Bridal Event: Wedding Library, Martha Stewart Weddings, Merci New York, NewlyWish

So, what do the Wedding Library, Martha Stewart Weddings, Merci New York, NewlyWish, Lindsay Landman Events, Gabriella New York and Kleinfeld all have in common? They all displayed at one of the most fabulous bridal fetes in New York City. The Wedding Library in conjunction with Martha Stewart Weddings gathers together some of the top New York City wedding vendors to share their exquisite tastes and ideas with chic New York brides and grooms. I was really excited when Amanda from Newly Wish and Jackie from Merci New York asked me to come and take photos of their booths and all the excitement of the day.

You can also see Merci New York’s great recap of the event. Parts?1 and 2

Lindsay Landman Events designed Newlywish’s tablescape and display cabinet. It was really beautiful and made every bride stop and stare. More than a few times did I hear brides chatting, turn around, gasp and whip out their cameras to grab a photo. Lindsay truly has a gift. Here is Lindsay’s recap of the event, I like how she explains her inspiration.

Gifts and Bespoke paper goods from Melangerie

Love how Merci New York created these vintage hatboxes with stunning imagery by Elizabeth Messina

Close-ups of the hat boxes used with a bed of carnations to show off Gabriella’s beautiful accessories

Cakes by Ron Ben-Israel and Sylvia Weinstock- the detailing is amazing!

Wedding Library had some interesting details with these wrought iron stands with different bird cages. Love them!

Gelato and Mini Cakes- yum! I had some of the hazelnut and chocolate gelato in a sugar cone and I thought I died and went to heaven. The mini-cakes are by Francina Sweets.

The 620 Loft Garden at Top of the Rock

Atelier Isabey - I just met them for the first time at the show and they make gorgeous luxury invitations and fine stationery. The detailing and quality is magnificent.

Emily Weaver Pinon from Chestnuts in the Tuilleries is super sweet and super friendly. Brides were loving her infectious smile and her feminine and elegant flowers.
